Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is future oriented and is designed to reduce anxiety and calm the mind. As the name suggests it focuses on solutions for the future, rather than analysing problems of the past. It uses practical, modern and well-researched strategies to help people make significant, positive changes in their lives in a relatively short period of time. So, in our sessions we:
- Acknowledge where you are currently
- Identify where you want to be
- Help you to make the necessary changes.
Hypnosis is simply a state of focused attention. In this relaxed state, your mind is more responsive to suggestion. In a therapeutic setting, the suggestions are designed to be beneficial to help you change unhelpful thought patterns. Within the light hypnotic state, you will never do anything that is against your own code of behaviour.
An Initial consultation includes a time of getting to know each other, taking relevant details, an explanation of how the brain works and how hypnotherapy can help you get to where you want to be – your preferred future. This session includes a Relaxation CD.
Future sessions consist of 25 minutes positive ‘talking’ therapy and 30 minutes hypnosis and relaxation.
All you need is a willingness to make changes to the way you think and this therapy can be highly effective in relieving the symptoms of anxiety and stress.
