Meditation and exercise may help cold symptoms

According to the July/August issue of Annals of Family Medicine, mindful meditation and sustained moderate exercise appear to be associated with reduced illness severity and fewer days of missed work due to colds. The researchers suggested that enhancing our general physical and mental health reduce the infectious burden.

Mindful mediation can reduce stress and negative emotions and have a positive effect on our immune system, similar to regular exercise which protects us from infections.
